Have you heard of Pitorro, the Puerto Rican moonshine? I hadn’t until recently when a Puerto Rican friend made a quick trip home and returned with a stash of Pitrorro in his luggage. According to my friend (who will remain nameless because he snuck illegal booze for me.) Pitorro is a rum-based drink with many different flavors and can be highly potent since it’s not regulated in Puerto Rico. Some stores sell Pitorro, but it is also still blended in homemade stills and can only be acquired through word of mouth. This is so romantic and exciting. I’d love to see a movie about Puerto Rican rum runners!
Along with my Pitorro, I’m having a Kentucky Fire Cured cigar, a reasonably inexpensive smoke that is part of the MUWAT line. These stogies are rolled in Nicaragua, where some of my favorite cigars are made.
Now, to dive back into the twisted brain of Stephen King!
